Unmanned Aerial and Remotely Piloted Missions
SES Government Solutions leverages our global satellite fleet to provide communications capability for Unmanned Aerial and Remotely Piloted Aircraft requirements. Our satellites currently support missions on a number of platforms, to include Predators, Reapers and Gray Eagles. With 50 satellites and 8 satellite launches between 2012 and 2014, we have the depth and operational flexibility necessary to adapt quickly to evolving requirements – whether they entail support to contingencies in a new area of operations or the fielding of new and increasingly-advanced unmanned and remotely piloted platforms and sensors. Simply stated, SES-GS provides robust communications capability, wherever today’s mission demands it.
Beyond today’s operational UAS mission requirements, the SES-GS engineering team supports unmanned and remotely piloted research, development, test, and evaluation (RDT&E) efforts by both Government organizations and UAS system vendors. For example, SES-GS has supported RDT&E efforts to improve communications throughput, to reduce RF interference, and to enhance airborne intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance (ISR) sensor capabilities. Finally, our in-house SES-GS satellite fleet development team works closely with Government organizations to ensure that the future SES satellite fleet incorporates those technologies and capabilities that will be necessary to meet tomorrow’s requirements.
